Moving from XPe to 7 Embedded 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have been asked to look into the advantages of moving from XPe to Windows Embedded Standard 7.

From what i have ready the advantages outway the disadvantages.

But I have not been able to find any pointers on whether I could import the .slx and .sld created in XPe to Standrad 7. Any help would be grateful.

    Thanks

  • The tools are completely different and components have been replaced with packages. The PMQ file can be used, other than that you are starting from scratch. WES7 is much easier to get up and running.

  • Thanks for the info Sean, I had feeling that was the case. AT least this way I will able to remove old/unwanted components completely.

  • Win7 drivers are different than XPe so you would have a fresh start anyways.
