Domain Based Attribute based on Business Rule RRS feed

  • Question

  • For instance let’s take Organization and Facility , both these tables are user maintained thru MDS. And potentially there could be different users maintaining these tables. So, if user 1 enters a record and hold pending validation for Organization and if user two is not aware that record in Organization is pending validation, and selects the organization values in Facility. This will cause a issue.

How to view/have only validated entries as Domain Attributes. (Need to leave pending and Invalid records)

  • Often this is handled with "shadow entities" copied from another model.  One model can be the publisher (e.g. where Organization is maintained), and another model (e.g. where Facility is maintained and mapped to Organization) can subscribe the list of valid members.  Set this up by copying valid records from subscription views in one model to another model via staging.  Use a SQL script or SSIS package.

  • I'd like to know if another approach is possible, given the new MDS releases since the last answer.
