DLM does not appear with MSDN RRS feed

  • All items check out Ok as per the minimum steps below and the DLM still does not appear. This has been going on for months and I am unable to download via DML from MSDN. Suggestion below is to post here.

    This is a follow up regarding your case ID 9000912947.

    I received notification from my support team indicating the following:

    The Akamai DLM is implemented as an ActiveX control, and that means that it will run only under IE. Other browsers will conduct the download over http. In order to make the Akamai Download Manager work, you need to make sure everything on your computer is set to allow ActiveX. If the Akamai Download Manager never appears under IE, it’s highly likely that something on your machine or your proxy is blocking ActiveX controls.
