Hiding or disabling Quick Access Toolbar RRS feed

  • Question

  • Anyone know if it is possible for me to hide the QAT or disable it. If neither of those, is it possible to prevent the user from customising it. I need to lock down my Visio application and can customise stuff off the ribbon by setting startFromScratch, but not the QAT.

  • Hi Andy-wa,

    Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

    You can do it via Ribbon Xml. This is the ribbon xml file on my side which I used to reproduce you issue. My environment is Window 7, Visual Studio 2010 and Office 2010.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2009/07/customui" onLoad="Ribbon_Load">
      <ribbon startFromScratch="true">
        <qat>
          <sharedControls>
          </sharedControls>
        </qat>
      </ribbon>
    </customUI>

    I hope it can help you.

    Have a good day,

    Tom

  • Well I was hoping to be able to hide it or completely disable it, but that will do. Thanks.
