using RDLC RRS feed

  • Question

  • We generate RDLC programatically and use the .net Report viewer to see both matrix reports and charts. Is it possible to substitute these charts with the new ASP.Net charting control, so that we can see a matrix report and these nice looking charts within the report viewer, all loaded from the rdlc?

  • I'm not sure if I fully understand your question... New chart features were releases in SSRS 2008 and will be available in ReportViewer in DEV10. If you want you can use report viewer and chart control side by side as any other ASP.NET controls.

    Please provide more information if I didn't answer your question.

  • What I meant was, is there a way to programatically create the charts by loading the information from an XML format like rdlc.

  • Chart supports it's own XML and Binary format. You can save and load chart using Chart.Serializer.Save and Load methods.
