Test Failed: Validate that at least 3 data disk(s) with a size of at least 135 GB are available in computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Trying to install Azure Stack TP3, downloaded VHDX, launched it. Run power shell script for installation. 
    Failed on validating disks.
    I have on my physical machine 4 disk:
    1- 200GB for system/Azure Stack 
    2- 300GB
    3,4- 600GB

    Disk 2,3,4 - Online and all memory is unallocated.(tried also create volumes on it, format and no format)

    Get this test failed.

    Also tried to change test script for test passing, but at installation process  it also fails with error:

    at least 3 disks are required, available disks 2

  • Yeap, added 2 more disk with 1TB size, test passed. Interesting why it not support disk from storage cluster. Hope they will ad this possibility to use cluster storage disk in final release.

  • We recommend that you use a system that meets the minimum requirements for Azure Stack POC.

  • Are you using physical disks or VHDX ?  

    If you are using virtual disks, you'll have to change BareMetal.Tests.ps1        

    and change the line "supportedBusTypes  "   what i did was remove 'NVMe'   and replaced it with 'File Backed Virtual'

    Hope u can advance from there.

  • I have 3 physical disks and 1 disk connected via fiber from storage...seems it not recognize this one storage disk as physical disk...will try to connect physical disk and rerun installation
