Customization of Web Parts on SP2007 Home Page RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to Customize a Web Part on SP2007 Home Page. Specifically, I am trying to use the Data View of an SP List as a webpart on our SP2007 Home page.

In order to do customization, I need to use SPDesigner 2007.

I am using a Master Page, the DefaultLayout.aspx and the Default page: Default.aspx.

I have added my data view web parts to BOTH the DefaultLayout.aspx and the Default.aspx home page using SPDesigner 2007, and yet, after checking in these pages, publilshing and approving these webpages the data view lists in my web do not show up on my home page.

I have edited the td.caption tag in the DefaultLayout.aspx to include some text to ensure that text is showing up, on the home page, and indeed it is, but the WebParts absolutely do not.

How am I to include my Data view List webparts in my home page so they show up?

  • Hi,

I think it's not required to put it on master page, juts open the home page in SPD and then follow steps mentioned in below article
