MkParseDisplayName( pBindCtx, szDisplayName, &ulEaten, &pMoniker ) returns syntax error RRS feed

  • Question

  • The above line of code has been working for years with the same szDisplayName for years. I've imported the C++ project onto my development PC to make a few minor unrelated changes. Before making any changes however I build the project to make sure it runs. However the MkParseDisplayName() SDK call is failing with the MK_E_SYNTAX  return code. I have not changed the name. I'm now into my second day and have not resolved the problem. I'm now convinced it is a privilege/access problem. This code works fine on many other boxes, even another developers box.

Can anyone please advise me what I need to changed to get his issue resolved.

    Running Windows XP SP3

    Thanks Al
