Grouping Paths from Illustrator RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

A designer made me a graphic in illustrator.  I imported it into Expression Blend.  I removed some info I didn't want, like some extra Canvases the import process made.  Now I have a bunch of paths that I want to group into an aggregate object, so they all scale, rotate, translate together.  What is the best way to do this?  In Expression Blend, I can highlight all the paths, right click, and there is a some "Group" options; however, it seems strange to group the paths into a layout control (but maybe that is what I am supposed to do).  I'm just surprised there is not a PathGroup object or something.  ViewBox seems to work for what I want, but is it the recommended practice?

  • You can drop the pathes into one canvas and apply all transformations to this root canvas. That should work.

  • Daniel is on the right track here. Canvas is probably what you want.
