SSL certificate request for SSRS RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

How can I make a certificate request on SSRS Server 2014 without IIS installed ?

in MS documentation https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345223(v=sql.120).aspx, it is suggested to use the Windows certifcate snap-in to make a certificate request. But with this tool, I can only make a request to our internal CA. I want to request a public certifcate (ex: EnTrust). thanks.

Answers

  • Here's how i get it started in my environment using the Certificate snap-in

    1. Select Certificates (Local Computer) > Personal.
    2. Right click ‘Personal’ > select ‘All Tasks’ > ‘Advanced Operations’ > ‘Create Custom Request’. This will open the “Certificate Enrollment” wizard.
    3. In the “Certificate Enrollment” wizard click ‘Next’.
    4. On the “Select Certificate Enrollment Policy” screen, under “Custom Request”, select ‘Proceed without enrollment policy’ and click ‘Next’.

proceed from there configuring it as necessary.
