TLS Request with .Net 3.5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

    I'm facing some security issues with the TLS protocol with .Net 3.5

    I searched through the internet and found out this :

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/fiddler/archive/2012/03/29/https-request-hangs-.net-application-connection-on-tls-server-name-indicator-warning.aspx

    ServicePointManager.SecurityProtocol = SecurityProtocolType.Ssl3;

    This line was doing the trick, but the server I need to send a request to is now blocking Ssl3 request, and the only way to proceed is by using TLS.

    Any idea on how to proceed? I even wonder if it actually is possible

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

    As a workaround, you could start a local http/https proxy (e.g. based on nodejs or .Net 4.0+) that marshals ssl3 to tls.

    I don't think there are that many alternatives besides upgrading to .Net 4.0...
