Issues sending emails from TFS2013 RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I configured TFS and Release manager for sending email notifications. So far, I received no emails.

    I used TFS Console's Send Test Email and received the following error:

    Unable to connect to the TFS server to test email settings. URL = '/_api/_common/TestMailSettings?sendTo=test@fabrikam.com'. Exception = System.UriFormatException: Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined.

      at System.Uri.CreateThis(String uri, Boolean dontEscape, UriKind uriKind)

      at System.Net.WebRequest.Create(String requestUriString)

    Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Admin.Console.Models.DlgSendTestMailViewModel.SendEmail()

    I have no issues sending emails from SharePoint. It seems that TFS and Relealse Management are the only apps affected.

    I have the following software versions installed all on a single server for testing purposes.

    • Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
    • SQL Server 2012 Enterprise
    • SharePoint 2013 Enterprise
    • Team Foundation Server 2013
    • Release Management

    Has anyone experienced this problem?

  • This was totally unhelpful. Why mark your answer as correct when there is no solution? All you've done is shut this down. Should have migrated it across.
