A Description to my custom fields RRS feed

  • Question

  • I Wanna Edit the description of my custom fields. I wanna be able to write a description to the window that pops up, when I hower over the custom field header.

Fx now I have A custom field called "Space", but the description just says "Space (Text1) This is a custom field etc."

I wanna be able to wright something about what this field is used for, insted of "This is a custom field..".

    Is this possible?

  • If referring to custom fields in Project client.

    1. Add field (Space) to the view.

    2. Right click on the column heading.

    3. Select "Field Heading"

    4. put SPACE2 in the Title field.    There isn't a description field in project.

If referring to custom field in PWA

    1) PWA /Setting

    2) Custom field

    3) Put SPACE2 in description field

  • Thanks, I am referring to the Project client.

There is a description when you just hold the mouse over the field header, that describes fx. for the field "name", it says "Name for the task or ressource".

It is this window I want to customize.

  • Marin,

Sorry, no can do. The only suggestion I can offer is to use a short but descriptive name when you rename the custom field.

As an alternative, although much less convenient, you could use the Notes field of the Project Summary Task to delineate a description for each custom field. Or, create and publish a "cheat sheet" to accompany the Project file.

I know it's not what you wanted but. . .
