Cannot authenticate using Google on Android RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I try to log in through my mobile app, I get an error after I pass the Google log in screens to the effect

    com.microsoft.windowsazure.mobileservices.MobileServiceException: Logging in with the selected authentication provider is not enabled

    But clearly it is enabled, since it was working previously.  I made a change to enable the Azure 'preview' functionality of "Enhanced users feature in Azure Mobile Services"

    based on the blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/carlosfigueira/archive/2013/12/16/enhanced-users-feature-in-azure-mobile-services.aspx

    In the course of debugging, I tried  https://MYSERVICENAME.azure-mobile.net/login/google.  There I get the expected login screens, but after successfully passing through google's screens the following message shows:

    {"code":401,"error":"Error: Error connecting to user database."}

    What could be wrong?

    I need the enhanced users feature since I want the user's email address (actually any unique user metadata would probably do).  Using 'Accounts' stored on the Android device is not an option I can use.
