F7 instead of F6

    Question

  • I have used VS2010 for a number of years, when now suddenly there appear to be some changes. I have not made a systematic listing but here is a clear example: the shortcut key for "Build" was always F6, but now it seems to be F7. What is this change? Can I get a complete listing of the new behavior? I keep tripping over this, and would appreciate some help.

  • Hi,

Your keyboard scheme has changed - go to Tools/Options/Environment/Keyboard and set the default keyboard scheme to 'Visual C# 2005'

    Thanks,

  • You can also change Tools->Import/Export Settings -> Reset All Settings & choose to save/skip existing setting & select your desired collection.

  • Your query was not clear..

Are you comparing two versions of Visual Studio (2010/2012)  or

Your VS2010 settings changed on a sudden...

    Could you give more details.

  • Did you install a version of 2015?

At me it did also change unwanted a lot in other settings in other versions to standard C# (Roslyn)

However on this page is described how you can set it back.

  • I have "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Version 10.0.40219.1 SP1Rel". I don't remember installing SP1 (I didn't have it originally but my memory is not that great). Could the changes I describe be due to the SP1? If so, where can I get documentation?

Strange, I gave it and you ask again for it.

Do you read the answers or are you only spamming in this forum?

  • I'm sorry if I offended you; it was not my intention. You asked whether I had installed 2015, and I explained that I had not. You gave a reference for setting it back, but I am not interested in setting it back. The documentation I asked for was only to clear up whether SP1 could have been the cause of the change in VS2010. If the link that you gave did include the answer to that question and I simply didn't see it, I apologize.
