Can I configure the Content Organizer to route items?

Question

I read https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Configure-the-Content-Organizer-to-route-documents-b0875658-69bc-4f48-addb-e3c5f01f2d9a and https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Create-Content-Organizer-rules-to-route-documents-1e4d37a3-635d-4764-b0fc-f7c5356c1900 and interestingly that I can move documents across. Is it possible to move items from a team discussion of a Community site across other community sites? Can I do the same across site collections or sub sites?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Yes, you can move documents (not support list items) across site collection using content organize rule.
For example:
I want to move document from site collection http://sp/ library “lib02” to site collection http://sp/sites/test library “Shared Documents”.
I accessed CA > General Application Settings > Configure send to connections, create a new connection to “Shared Documents” library in http://sp/sites/test.
In http://sp/ site collection, I have set the following settings:
1. Access Site Settings > Content Organizer Settings, check “Require users to use the organizer” and “Allow rules to specify another site” option.
2. Access Site Settings > Content Organizer Rules, create two rules pointed to Sp\lib02 and Test\Documents.
In http://sp/sites/test site, I set an organizer rule pointed to shared documents library:
Then I uploaded a file to http://sp/lib02 library, it was moved to http://sp/sites/test/shared%20documents library.
Also, you can move documents by clicking Send To button: https://unnieayilliath.com/2016/07/27/copymove-documents-to-different-sharepoint-site-collection-using-content-organizer/

Hi,
It's not supported for list items.
This feature works by moving documents to drop library, then move them to destination from drop library. Thus, it's not supported to move items by organizer rules.
