How can map as a network drive a share Azure Storage with a local computer (on-premisse). Its possible? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created a "folder" shared in Azure Storage and would like to map it to a network drive on my on-premisse computer.

Just find tutorials for sharing in a VM Azure.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can do?

  • In portal.azure.com click on your storage account, then click on Files. You can create a share here and upload files. You can then map the drive on an on-premises machine. For more info see https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/storage-dotnet-how-to-use-files/

    net use <drive-letter>: \\<storage-account-name>.file.core.windows.net\<share-name>
    example :
    net use z: \\samples.file.core.windows.net\logs

  • @Davi,

    Has the issue been resolved?

As Nick suggested, you will need to create the folder as an Azure file Share to be able to use it as an network drive/SMB share.
