Access 2007 native C++ ADO and Ole Object RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I'm wondering if the operation I'm attempting is even possible. Can I programmatically add image data (.bmp,.gif,.jpeg) to an Access 2007 database? I am aware of the caveats regarding storing actual images in the db, I need to support the storing of a controlled number of small images.

Using C++ and ADO and Sql Server I'm able to say something like "UPDATE [table] set [Image] = ? where [something] = [some value]" and add a parameter that represents that value for the '?' placeholder. This will not work in Access 2007 using '?' or '@Image' in the sql statement.

Am I attempting something that isn't supported? If this is supported, can anyone point me towards some guidance?
