Good morning folks. I have VS 2015 Update 3 installed and I'm trying to interact with a TFS 2017 repository. I can see the repository but I cannot download any of the code. Is this a limitation of being on a lower version of VS than the TFS Server? Is there a work around?

    Hi bbcompent1,

You could connect TFS 2017 from VS 2015  There is no limitation about source control system.

Could you please provide a screenshot of this issue? Which version control system do you use? TFVC or Git?

For TFVC, please refer to this article:

    Best Regards,

The problem is actually with the team Foundation server itself according to the server administrator so nothing on my end is wrong. Thank you.

    Hi bbcompent1,

did you receive any error? or warning message?

did you set up TFS properly?

make sure there is no any pending commits and also make sure that something is not corrupted.

try to pull request or try to close project.

    Reference:

    Connect to team projects

Get Started with Git and VSTS

Set up Team Foundation Version Control on your dev machine

    Clone an existing Git repo

    Regards

    Deepak

That team is going to troubleshoot the problem with the server because it is beyond my sphere of influence.
