Need Help Finding Exchange 2003 Server OWA URL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello! I recently started doing IT work at a company. I am currently the only IT person working here. We are using Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003. I have several users requesting access to OWA and mobile phone access to their emails. All of the users requesting access told me they had access at one time, but they need it set up on their new phone. I can access OWA internally, but I cannot access it from a network because I do not have the OWA URL. How would I go about finding this?

It's probably worth noting that when I go to mail.companyname.com, I get "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." I've tried mail.companyname.com/exchange and mail.companyname.com/owa, but neither of them seem to work.

Thanks in advance for your help, everyone.

  • For OWA 2003, my first attempt would be

    http://mail.companyname.com/exchange

    and then

    https://mail.companyname.com/exchange

The second one uses SSL, and would normally be the default, but if you've not used OWA for a while, any certificate may have expired.

See if you can see any connection attempts in your IIS logs. For Server 2003 (IIS6), I think you'll find them in C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\W3SVC1 . Double-click the most recent one to open it in notepad. Times are at the left-hand end of each logged line, but they're in GMT/UTC.

Also, see if you have anything in C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\HTTPErr to indicate failed connection attempts.
