The feature: "Report builder and report models" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services

Hello,

We have SQL Server 2012 Advanced and when i try to build a report from SQL Server Reporting Services it comes up with the error The feature: "Report builder and report models" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services.

Hello,

That's a limitation in the free Express Edition, see Features Supported by Reporting Services in SQL Server Express => Unsupported Features => Ad hoc reporting through semantic models and Report Builder is not supported

Report Builder per click-once don't work, but you can download & install the app on your client machine: Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Report Builder

Based on my research, I find that there are three versions support Report Builder: Enterprise, Business Intelligence, Standard. There are four versions support Model in SSRS : Enterprise, Business Intelligence, Standard, Web. You can refer to Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2012 for details.
