Kinect for Training RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. I'm an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) who's looking at the possibilities Kinect brings to delivering training, especially in areas such as aircraft maintenance, truck driving, and other jobs that require training in psyschomotor skills. I believe the Kinect could be used to create some great courseware for these students, and I was wondering if any one on here had either considered using Kinect or were actually using it, and if you have any lessons learned that you could share? Thanks!

Well work at a K-12 school system, although not directly related I am currently using kinect and mouse emulation to help the teachers use the kinect with multiple people on mouse mischief and multipoint. Its an R+D project but its great for helping the teachers do special interactive activities.

Update: I have almost got it working but I pre-tested it with high school students but do not work at the school system anymore because it was a temporary coop with contract. I forgot to list the link to the project which emulates each person from the Kinect as a mouse device: http://kinectmultipoint.codeplex.com
