WCF SQL send adapter timeouts randomly RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can i find out what is causing the problem below? How can i workaround this problem?

I have a WCF send adapter send adapter that is set to zero retries. The latency of the send is normally less than one seconds. Randomly this send adapter will time out. This might happen 6 or 7 times a week. I cannot reproduce this problem in any other environment other than our production environment. I have been tracing these events on the SQL server and it seems that the request takes less that 0.3 second on SQL server and that it is the response that does make its way back to BizTalk. I use zero retries because I must return the response within 5 seconds or raise an exception. The send adapter is contained within a long running scope so i can set the timeout. I have tried increasing the timeout to 10 seconds and this does not stop the observed behaviour because i don't think the response ever comes back when this random event occurs.
