How to display splash screen at boot-up on WinCE 6.0 R3 device? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

My WinCE booloader is currently hard-coded to display 4-color bars (Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow) at boot-up with RGB24 graphic format.  Now I would like to display a 8-bit bitmap as a splash screen instead so I change the booloader to BITMAP8 graphic format and have the bitmap in NAND.  The bitmap data seem to be loaded from NAND to Video memory correctly but I got a black screen until the WinCE explorer shell is displayed.

Would anyone please give me some tips on what are to be done to display a splash screen at boot-up?

    Thanks,

    Luan

  • We don't know anything about your display controller hardware, so it is a little difficult to help you.

But either you aren't initializing your display controller and backlight, or your statement that "The bitmap data seem to be loaded from NAND to Video memory correctly " may not be accurate.
