Problem with SQL Agent Job running a SSIS Package step RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am finding a problem with SQL Agent Job running a SSIS Package step that try to read data from a SQL Server instance, which is running in a Linux container. Error message:

    " Login failed for user 'MYDOMAIN\etl-account' "

That is normal as in the SQL Server Linux target, there is not AD integration.

    The situation is:

    - The SQL server instance running the SSIS job is on Windows Server. SSIS is not supported on Linux.

    - Windows/AD accounts are not supported on SQL Server Linux containers, so I am using SQL Logins there.

Is there a way to run an agent job step (with SSIS package step) by a SQL Login instead of using account?

    Hello Pedro,

The authentication mode and credentials are defined in the connection Manager in the package; you have to modify that one to use SQL auth.
