VS2012 code template failed to build

    Question

  • Hi. I ve got a following issue:

    when im creating a new project (Templates->Visual C++->Windows Store->Direct3D App)

    and then trying to build it, im receiving the next:

    1>------ Build started: Project: Direct3DApp1, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------
    1>C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.Targets(1701,5): error MSB3774: Could not find SDK "Microsoft.VCLibs, Version=11.0".
    ========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========

    in the <target platform> only ARM, Win32 and x64 is available.

    but i suppose it should me a managed code, so something like Any CPU should be...

    but bot.

    so how to compile that or how to walkaround a problem?

  • I cannot replicate the issue as I am running the same versions as yours. Does the error occur only for Direct3D templates or also for any other C++ templates as well? This might be an installation issue.
