Icons disappeared.

    Question

  • After taking update, the icons/icon's name in the tool bar of my visual studio is disappeared. I restarted my visual studio and also my computer several times but the result is negative! Currently I'm using Enterprise 2015 version with Windows 10 Education. And my PC configuration is RAM 2 GB with 500 GB hard drive (250 GB for C drive and 180 GB available space).

Anyone please tell me, how to fix this problem? Thanks a lot in advance!

  • Hi Imrose Reza Himel,

    Thanks for your post.

    >>After taking update

Does this issue happen after installing the VS 2015 Update 3 or any other update?

1.Assuming that it's VS 2015 Update 3, if the Icon has gone , the cause may be related to your installation, the packages or files could be missing or corrupted.

Firstly, please go to Control Panel >Programs >Programs and Features, Select Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 and right click on 'change'>'repair', to do a repair .

If the problem still persist, I suggest you download a good ISO to repair and re-install again.2. Or if you install other update, such as third-party add-ins,  can you start VS in  safemode and check if the issue occurs again?

If the above still doesn't help,I need you installation log file to troubleshoot this issue,

please use  http://aka.ms/vscollectto gather the installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.zip from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to  https://onedrive.live.com/ and share the link here

    Best Regards,
