Help required with FileWatcher

The code can be accesses through: WatchFolder.zip

I would like to log the domain/username of the users when they are logging in from the network i.e. filesharing

I am currently using Environment.UserName and Environment.DomainName
but this is not able to log if the files are access via filesharing

The Environment.UserName and Environment.DomainName are only useful if the user have logged in the machine (explorer/rdesktop)

Urgent help required!

HI,

I tried this but it worked for me.

Created a shared folder in some PC. Gave this write permission to my UID and tried copying a file. And this worked perfectly fine.

 

Can you please clarify if I am doing the way you wanted? Else give me detailed step to produce the problem

1. On PC_1 share a folder lets say "sharefr" for user1 and user2 (r/w permissions)

2. In watchfolder, give the path to monitor from user1 and start the monitor.

3. In the meantime, from PC_2 on the LAN access it, //PC_1/sharefr/

4. It will ask you for a username and password, fill it for user2

5. Make some changes in //PC_1/sharefr/

6. It will log events for user1 rather than for user2

I want to log the username i.e. user2.

e.g. Thats how PA File Sight works

Any help to replicate its functionality?
