Visual Studio does not respond to environment settings for include files

    Question

  • I have set an environment variable MY_INCLUDES that points to a directory for shared include files.

In project properties, I have added %MY_INCLUDES% to the additional include setting.

    It does not work.

This is going to grow into a very large project. I appreciate any guidance you have.

    Thanks!

  • Hi jimc,

Thanks for posting to our forum.

Could you please tell me what’s the version of your Visual Studio?

I did a test in my side using VS2015 Update1. And it works well in my side.

I created a C++ Win32 project. In project properties, I specify a directory in “Additional Include Directories”.

Then I can add the include code to my source file without adding additional directory.

    For example:

In addition. I found a document about Working with Project Properties for your reference:

Hope that could be helpful to you.

    Best Regards,
