Azure Tools 2.0 problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have developed a LS app using VS 2012 Update 2 with Azure Tools October 2012 and have published it to Azure. I setup a new PC with VS2012 update 3 with Azure Tools 2.0 and now when I run my app in debug mode, VS is looking for Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ServiceRuntime verison 1.0.0.0 but now what I have is version 2.0.0.0

    How to fix?

  • Can you try adding this assembly redirect entry to the assemblyBinding section of your web.config file (found in the Server project) (just the bold one, I added the rest for context of entries already in the file):

      <runtime>
        <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
          <!-- Binding redirect for Visual Studio 2010 -->
          <dependentAssembly>
            <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ServiceRuntime" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" culture="neutral" />
            <bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0" newVersion="2.0.0.0" />
          </dependentAssembly>
          <dependentAssembly>
            <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft.LightSwitch" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" culture="neutral" />
            <bindingRedirect oldVersion="10.0.0.0" newVersion="10.0.11.3" />
          </dependentAssembly>
