Customizing GS04 in 997 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any way we can configure the GS04 date format of a 997 message. By default this is coming as CCYYMMDD. Also I don't see 997 type in party for GS and ST Segment definition, but 996 and 998 are available. Thanks in advance..

In addition, this has to be after the EDI encoder component in the pipeline. Also, in the upcoming R3 edition we will be supporting a new feature which allows for dynamically updating the headers(including GS04) just before the msg hits the send pipeline. So, it may be cheaper to write an orchestration just before sending pipeline than a pipeline component.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

If you do need to change the date format (for example, from CCYYMMDD to YYMMDD format), you will have to write your own pipeline component to do this.

The actual modification can be happening in IBaseMessage Execute method to modify the GS04 segment header value for 997s. You can modify the GS04 header of the outgoing messages(not the 997s) from the party settings. Its only for the outgoing 997 that you cannot configure it through the party settings.

    Thanks.

  • Pipeline component can only be considered as a work around. We have hundreds of partner and for each again customizing the pipeline is not an easy task.

Even I am facing problem while receiving different versions (02040) of 997. It is using the default schema insted of 02040 schema deployed.. At receive side also i cannot customize the GS and namespace for 997.

Was there any specific reason not to allow 997 customization..?

  • What would be the easiest way to do it in a pipeline or the ODX? How would you do that in BT 2013

  • This thread is very old.  You should start a new thread describing your specific situation.
