Is There A Way To Get To The References Collection Without Opening The Database In Access? RRS feed

  • Question

  • You can enumerate the many of the collections in an Access database by opening the database from a running Access database and using the created database object.

Unfortunately, the references collection is a property of the application object which means the database has to be opened in Access as the currentdb.  Opening the databases causes certain references to be changed to correspond to the version of Access on the machine.

I need a way to look at the references in a database from another machine without causing the updates.

The references are stored in the database so how do I get to them?

  • Hi. I'm not sure how; but just thinking out loud, you could try setting the file attribute to read-only and maybe the changes won't stick. Or, are you trying to determine the original reference used?
