Track access to storace and CDN RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm creating a service where my clients will store files on the CDN.

How can I track the bandwidth for each user (container) so I know when they reach their limits or as a base for payment between us.

Lets say that my client X can have 1GB of file transfer per month. How can I monitor this?

  • Check if the Windows Azure Storage analytics provide enough details for you to extract billing info at a client level.

More details can be found on the storage team blog.

CloudNinja is a great sample application that focuses on (per tenant) metering and autoscaling.

If the number of clients is really small (<=20) you can create storage accounts per user (at no extra cost) and use the standard metric on each account, but I guess that will not be the case.
