Application usage analytics for metro style apps.

    Question

  • Hi

I would like to gather more application usage what the reports can offer in the developer site.

What you guys using for analytics ? Any good service where the windows 8 is supported?

For non MS projects we are using Flurry & Crittercism but they not support the windows 8 yet.

    Thanks

    Alex

  • Hello,

As far as I know, you can use Visual Studio profiling tool to analyze performance data for metro application.

For more information, please check this document.

    Best regards,

  • Funny this is marked as an answer because it does not seem to answer the question. He was asking about analytics, which is more of a how the user is using the app and you answered with performance, which is more of a how the app is designed and constructed thing. Two very different things.

I've asked this question in a separate thread as well.

So far, it looks like Localytics has a solution but they only have a Javascript SDK.

Any idea on how to wrap this in C#?

  • Hi,

This is an old question. I don't remember if i marked that answer correct, anyway.

Meanwhile i found a simple analytic tool called MarkedUp. It works in C# and Javascript projects too.

There is now a Win 8 port of the Win Phone 7 library of localytics that you can use:

  • Had a look at MarkedUp but their reporting is too basic as there is no filtering whatsoever. Now I'm looking into Trackerbird Analytics (www.trackerbird.com) which seems to have very detailed filtering and conversion analysis ("license conversion funnel").
