Do I need to test on both Windows 8 and 8.1 to get driver signed for both? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

This might have been answered already but I could not locate the answer in the documentation.

I have a device driver which supports Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. It is clear with Windows 7 that the tests need to be run on it. Do I need to run WHCK tests on Windows 8 and 8.1 to get driver certified for both? Or is it enough to test it on Windows 8.1 and it will get logo for Windows 8 automatically?

    Thanks

  • Hi yev,

For few devices , MSFT is accepting the logs for Windows 8.1 without running complete cert on Windows 8. But there are some prerequisites.

    - Please check the HCK policy Document and see if your DUT is listed in that.

    - if your DUT is listing, then you just have run DevFund.INF test on Windows 8 and merge the logs with Windows 8.1

    - Driver binaries must be same for both OS

    Thanks,
