Widespread Geocoding Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • As of just a few hours ago our Australian end users started reporting issues address matching.  They normally have 90+% hit rates fair to say and multiple users (different data sets and industries, pretty isolated test cases) in Australia are reporting geocoding fail rates of ~50%.

No need for a test REST call or sample code probably because I ran these same tests directly on maps.bing.com and they also failed.  The end user confirmed these are correct addresses that would normally geocode for them.

I ran some test addresses and these are very much valid requests such as....

85 Denison St, Camperdown, NSW 2050 AU

1 Morris avenue, Kingsgrove, NSW 2208 AU

210 Corunna Lane, Stanmore, NSW 2048 AU

As you can image this is of urgent importance to our end users.  Some have 400+ addresses and can't manually match them in the required time span.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Per a Microsoft ticket this seems to have been resolved and it was an Australian issue only as far as I can tell.

    Thanks.
