Providing High availability To SSRS Reports including SQL Server Database for Lync2013

  • We had set-up SQL Server 2012 for Lync 2013 backend. To provide the high availability to SQL database configured the mirroring concept (Lync 2013 supports only mirroring concept).

Now problem is we’re not able to provide high availability to SSRS reports with SQL Server connection. Because in SSRS reports configuration manager we had defined the SQL Server principal database connection, If principal database\server goes offline\down then reporting connection get breaks and the reports will be unavailable. Even tried with SSRS reports Scale Out feature It provided availability to reports servers only.

Can anyone advise me alternative method to providing high availability to SSRS reports?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

SSRS doesn't provide automatic failover to the mirrored database if primary database is down. You must do manual failover (reconfiguring RS to point the secondary server).
