  • I have an application and i'd like to make it update by using a bootstrapper. How can I do this?

  • Check out ClickOnce.

    It's just a few clicks and your app can install from disk, file or url, check for updates and update itself. With built in version control, mandatory update requirements and remote "bricking" - if you want to disable specific versions, or force users to update. Definitely don't try to reinvent the wheel.

    You could even have a light ClickOnce bootstrapper for your main app, if you have a specific reason to want your own orchestration. This is all built into Visual Studio. Just right click and skip through the publish wizard.
