Serialize and De-Serialize page with mutiple custom controls.

    Question

  • I'm looking for some guidelines or suggestions for serializing a page with multiple custom controls and their states to storage and also reconstructing the same page and controls from storage. Thanks.

  • With custom controls, you may have to write your own routines to serializing the information if there are complex types.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • Thanks for the reply, Matt. Yes, after doing some research is looks like I'm better off just writing out the important attributes and values for the controls to structured storage.
