tdi driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi

I want to divert each packet of data through my local proxy for content filtering. I read some where TDI drivers are useful for redirection. plese give me possible way to redirect all traffic to proxy. i wrote sample tdi driver that changes the ip and port on TDI connect. but communication breaks. how should i do redirection?

  • TDI is on the path of deprecation.  You should implement your redirection using WFP (of course this is with the assumption that you are coding for Vista+).

For Vista, you can perform redirection by doing packet modification at the FWPM_LAYER_INBOUND_TRANSPORT_V* and FWPM_LAYER_OUTBOUND_TRANSPORT_V* layers.  For Win7+ you can use the FWPM_LAYER_ALE_CONNECT_REDIRECT_V* and FWPM_LAYER_ALE_BIND_REDIRECT_V* layers.

For further information on WFP and it's archtiecture please refer to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa363967(v=VS.85).aspx

    Hope this helps
