Separating Radio buttons RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any other way to group radio buttons other than by putting them in separate group containers?

It's just that the group containers makes the layout a bit awkward.

  • Andy,

You can use any control (in this case panels which have no border).

Be aware that you are talking about Windows Forms radio buttons and VB is more than VB was in the times before VB7.

  • I was wondering if there was a way to programmatically separate them.
Anyway, the panel works a lot better.

I feel sure that you don't want to go to this extent (it's very NOT free) but you might also want to look at third party controls like Dev Express.

For this, have a look at the link below:

    https://documentation.devexpress.com/WindowsForms/4712/Controls-and-Libraries/Editors-and-Simple-Controls/Simple-Editors/Product-Information/Editors

Scroll down some until you see "RadioGroup".

  • Not in a way I can see it make sense. It is already a long time ago created that they have to be in a container to act as real Radio Buttons.

But maybe you can tell what sense it can make.

You can of course buy them or make your own user controls but then they are as well in a special container.

    I couldn't tell.

I like the radio group because as you change the size horizontally, it will re-position the radiobuttons vertically and vice versa.

I thought that the newer versions of VS did that too though.
