Tools for Apache Cordova for Vistual Studio 2013 - CTP3 Setup Blocked RRS feed

  • Question

  • Like some other people in here, I have also a problem installing the tools for apache cordova.

I get a "setup blocked" error message because I don't have Visual Stuio update 4...

However I have a clean install of Visual Studio 2013 Update 4 (desktop edition) installed. Tried to repair the installation but same results.

Is there any workaround to install the tools or I should wait for the bug to be fixed and intergrated in a next release?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

You said you install Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows Desktop with Update 4 in your computer. I test in my computer and found same errors occur. And I find a article below:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn757054.aspx

    Requirement:

Visual Studio 2013 Update 4 (Professional, Ultimate, Premium, or Community Edition) with the following features installed:

Tools for Maintaining Store apps for Windows 8

    Windows Phone 8.0 SDK

You can add these features to an existing installation of Visual Studio 2013 Update 4. In Control Panel, choose Programs and Features. Select Visual Studio 2013 from the list, and then choose Change. In the Visual Studio setup window, choose Modify. In the features list, select the two options, as shown in the illustration.

So you should installVisual Studio 2013 Update 4(Professional, Ultimate, Premium, or Community Edition). The version of visual studio 2013 express cannot fulfill the requirement. And note you should select Tools for Maintaining Store apps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.0 SDK when you try to install VS.
