Upon opening a project in VB.Net 2015, and selecting any option all controls become read-only

    Question

  • This is a project converted from vb6 to vb.net 2015

There is a list on the left side of the form

When selecting 1 name from the List - All fields are auto-filled with the proper information. But then all the controls become READ ONLY, and I have no clue why this is happening.

This scenario has presented itself on 2 of the forms in the project, so far.

  • Hi Moshe Singer,

    Thank you for your post.

Could you please tell us your project type.

If directly open the old project(from VB6) in VS 2015,Usually it won't support.

Please refer to below article about Porting, Migrating, and Upgrading Visual Studio Projects.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh266747.aspx

If you really would like to develop  this type project, you may need to create a new one in VS 2015. then copy the resource code to it.

    Best Regards,
