Filling a box or text in ED4 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have selected text and am mixing colors in the appearance toolbox. However, I can't find the control that applies the fill or color to the selection.

  • Hello Ron,

A couple ways to deal with coloring text. One, you can highlight all the text you desire to change the color of and make sure that on the Properties box that shows the color panel, that the tab for fill is selected. Move the sliders around or type in values. Deselct the text and presto, colored text.

You can also switch to the Selection tool (the black pointer), click once on the text and the bounding box is then selected. Change the sliders (again, making sure the fill tab is selected on the Properties box) and the color of all the text contained in that bounding box is now the desired color.

You can also mix and match. That is, you can make all the text green for instance. Then, using the text tool, highlight a portion and chenge just the selected text's color--see the screen shot.

The exact same process is used on shapes.

    Take care, Mike
