  • Hi Dhaval,

As per my understanding of your issue, all you need is to look out/ sick help of database driver which could be OleDB, ODBC, or driver specific to DB2 or Informix database (as AS400 to me is more of OS and not Database).

As per my information DB2 and Informix are IBM's database products. And to connect to such databases primarily we can make use of age old ODBC driver. Below is the list of links which can help you to connect database:

  • Hi,

I would suggest to just use google and search for access as400 database dotnet. I think the first hits are all quite nice and shows you some nice possibilities.

And of course: Maybe you want to search the ibm redbooks (I hope that is still available). At least in the past IBM was known to document everything very good!

But I have no experience with that. Isn't the database on an AS400 a db2 database? Maybe you can look for some DB2 stuff, too.

    With kind regards,

    Konrad

  • Hi Konard,

Thx for the suggestions but i am not able to get the things from google.

I already told my vendor to get "I Access drivers" from IBM.

But i have doubt that Only "I Access drivers" will be sufficient or would i need more then that?

and everyone is suggesting different things.

that is why i am asking these question.

  • I use the IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries assembly. I think it was installed as part of IBM iSeries Access for Windows.
