How to show popup XAML page like IE10Metro and Bing map

  • We're porting our GIS app to Windows RT and have made some progress thanks to the kind help from this forum. We started from the "Direct2D App (XAML)" template that provides AppBar by default. Now we want to add somes option pages (like Win32 dialog boxes), each of which consists of UI controls. A typical example we'd like to follow is the Bing map, in which an option page pops up on the right of the screen when user clicks the "Route" button. Another example is IE10 Metro, which pops up a page consisting of webpage thumbnails and buttons on the top of the screen. Unfortunately, we have little XAML programming experience. Would someone point me some articles and code sample demonstrating how to do this? Thanks in advance.
