Vista needs elevated privileges to perform an install, are you running as an admin ?? Normally you get an option to right click on an install and select run as Administrator, then a UAC dialog pops up asking for your permission to allow this to run. Hope fully that should give it sufficient privilege

    Hope this helps

  • Oh, your Windows Theme is kind of Vista style, so you're on Windows XP right?

So, you want to install .NET Framework 2.0 on Windows XP (if on Vista you don't need to, since Vista is shipped with .NET 2.0 and 3.0 already).

From the error information, please ensure that your current account does have administrator permission to read/write the specific registry keys (check it by running "regedit" (without quotes) in command prompt).

Then try to remove the remanet of the failed installation via Updated .NET Framework cleanup tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2007/12/04/6659905.aspx  and install the .NET Framework again with an administrator account.

    Thanks

  • OK, so please do the following steps:

    1. Delete the content in %temp% folder.
    2. Run the .NET Framework 2.0 setup again
    3. Following the instructions at
