    NOTE: I have not done 'any' AJAX work prior to below.......

    I have done the following (all on my local computer w/ .net 3.5 & VS 2008)...

    [1]Downloaded the ASP.NET Ajax Library 0911 Beta;

    [2]Extracted to c:\extract\ajaxcontroltoolkit;

    [3]Launched VS2008 & CREATE A NEW WEBSITE;

    [4]Added a NEW TAB to my toolbox: 'AJAX Control Toolkit';

    [5]Right-CLick on AJAX Control Toolkit & selected CHOOSE ITEMS;

    [6]Browsed to c:\extract\ajaxcontroltoolkit\Webforms\Release\AjaxControlToolKit.dll;

    [7]I hit OK and my AJAX Control Toolkit is now filled w/20-30 new tools;

    [8]I drag the 'CalendarExtender' tool to Default.aspx;

    [9]The BIN folder is populated with a lot of folders (ar/cs/de/etc...) all containing AjaxControlToolkit.resources.dll;

    [10]I drag a asp:Textbox control to default.aspx;

    [11]Modified CalendarExtender TargetControlID="TextBox1";

    [12]chose Build Website - Build succeeded with no errors;

    [13]launch browser and go to localhost/testsite/default.aspx;

    have the following SERVER ERROR:

    Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture.  Make sure "AjaxControlToolkit.Properties.Resources.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "AjaxControlToolkit" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed.

    HELP... what am I missing?

    Just make sure you have

    <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server">
        </asp:ScriptManager>

    on the page (obviously feel free to change attributes, like ID), after your form tag.

    Take a look at http://forums.asp.net/p/1499029/3541709.aspx#3541923

    You can ignore the part about old component tags (eg, you can use a tagprefix of "ajaxtoolkit" without problems, as long as you register the assembly with the same name as what you are using on your page), but first double check that you actually have a ScriptManager on your page.

    If you still are having problems, see the Get Started with the AJAX Control Toolkit page.
