SQL 2005 Reporting Services while exporting the report in the excel sheet throws error as - number is stored as text RRS feed

  • Question

  •    We are facing the below problem in the SQL 2005 Reporting Services while exporting the report in the excel sheet.

From the database we are getting the number values along with the null values.
The null values need to be replaced with hypen(-),
In the Report it shows the values properly

    e.g. 1

           2

           3

           -

but when we export it in excel it throws an error for the first three columns as 'number stored as text' Error

As in the excel sheet it applies the formatting of text i.e. hypen for all the other cells of that column.

Please let us know if there is any solution for the above problem

Please try Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services.

  •  Hi Wang,

    Thanks for the information...

but, is it the only way, will it not be possible by expressions, or writting a custom assembly...

Also, I understand that aspose.cells is a not free.

Request you to please provide the information if we can do by SSRS only.

    Thanks

    Hi Dhananjay,

Yes, we can custom render the report.

This article may help: Display Your Data Your Way with Custom Renderers for Reporting Services

    Hopefully this helps.
