Inconsistent depth data RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I am using Kinect sensor V2. As an initial experiment we tried measuring depth of table surface. We were expected that since it was a plane surface, all the depth data will show same or close readings, but actual data was not as expected. we could see that it was following some pattern which we couldn't decode yet. In center of image it was showing depth close to actual and increasing by about 1cm on both sides. We moved object by 90 degrees, and this pattern became diagonal to image.

    Have anybody faces similar problem? and is this know behavior of Kinect Depth sensor? How to handle it?

  • Hi, this is documented over here a bit more https://github.com/OpenKinect/libfreenect2/issues/144 

    You will need to recalibrate the Kinect to get reliable data, also watch out for its temperature dependency.
